On October 4th, I drove up to this picturesque vineyard where the grapes had be picked at 2am. When Ang, the manager, had loaded them in the trailer, I was gifted a bundle of sage from the property and was then driven up the hill to view the sunrise over the Santa Ynez Valley. What a beautiful start for this wine! This fruit was pressed without de-stemming and placed in stainless steel tanks to age. Viognier is a lovely aromatic Rhone variety that has always been a favorite of ours. This vintage shows notes of honeysuckle, Meyer lemon, stone fruit such as white peach, and a touch of salinity. We think it would pair well with seafood, a simple summer salad, and roast chicken with lots of garlic and lemon. Wildly Drinkable!
